Holly came in with Moe, Danny, Tucker and Sierra after her adopters abandoned her. She was at home with them for approx 2 years and was ridden regularly up until 4 1/2 months ago. Prior to that she was ridden on the road and the trails lots and also does well in the arena.
As per her assessment upon arrival to the rescue, we found that she tosses her head a lot. We checked her teeth and they are up to date, so our conclusion is that she was ridden by someone who had very rough hands and had her face yanked on lots. We have seen this time and time again. The good news is it is a very easy fix for an intermediate plus rider. A couple of rides with someone who is light in their hands and who won’t hang off her face will kick the habit.
