Some of you may remember him as he came in mid-April after finishing his racing career to find a new home. He was subsequently adopted in July 2012 and renamed "Rowdy".
Below is the updated information on Rowdy from the previous two years during his adoption:
Rowdy has been with me for about 2 years now and we love him to death. My 8yo son loves to groom him and Rowdy stands quietly while an inexperienced young boy struggles to pick his feet correctly.
We have spent a lot of time in stilling great ground manners on Rowdy as there are lots of kids around our place all the time. Ditto for dogs, bikes and lots of other scary things that he needed to get used to in order to be a well-behaved man in a family environment.
Rowdy walks down the road in hand quietly and doesn't flinch or get spooked by vehicles, dogs, ducks flying out of ditches or landmines.;-)
Rowdy has done light trails with no issues and has also gone down country roads without issue. I have only walked and trotted him in a western saddle. My young son has also ridden him on our property as well as down the roads where we live under my lead.
I think rowdy would excel in an intermediate home with children and I would not hesitate saying that he would be a great horse for a pre-teen as he loves kids.
His adoption fee is $500 to an approved home.
