Whisper was originally rescued back in March 2013 through the BC SPCA. She was adopted out shortly after that but came back in just over 2 years later as she began picking on the other horse at home and became too dominant for her green family.
She is approximately 17 years old and is believed to be an Appendix. She stands approx 15.2hh with a solid build, is an easy keeper, healthy and has good feet that are fine barefoot.
Since her time back at the rescue, Whisper has turned into a very soft and gentle mare; her ground manners have improved dramatically and she is easy to catch and handle, picks up all four feet, is good for the farrier, hauls and loads like a dream and, despite her alpha mare nature, even shares a paddock with another horse.
With a sure-footed gait and a jog as smooth as melted butter, Whisper is a very comfortable and relaxing ride and, with her confident alpha nature, she has no problem hitting the trails solo! She is steady and spook-proof with dogs, goes over bridges and has no issues with cars or traffic; plus, she has no problem with our little doggie pack following at her heels! She can still be a bit testy if she hasn't been out in a while or if her rider is rough or nervous, but she sure has come leaps and bounds during her time here.
She is located at our farm in Maple Ridge. Her adoption fee is $500 with a signed adoption agreement and a 30-day trial period to ensure a good fit. Contact us or submit an adoption application today if interested!
