JC and T are two Paint horses who need a new home (preferably together). Unfortunately their previous owner has passed away and the farm is being sold.
Whisper was adopted out two years ago, but unfortunately had to be returned as she has been picking on her sweet senior roommate and her dominate behaviour is too much for the family and children.
She is a gorgeous approx 17 year old Appendix mare who we originally rescued in March 2013 through the BC SPCA. She stands approx 15.2hh and has a solid build. She is sound and healthy.
Her manners have already improved dramatically with a more experienced handler and she is dying to be friends. She will be looking for an advanced handler with the time to work and bond with her. With a bit of work she will make a great riding partner for an experienced, active rider!
Always wanted a J&M Acres graduate, but not yet ready to adopt? You're in luck! One of our amazing grads is available for a part-lease :)
Zeke was adopted back in December 2010 and is looking for a new human friend 3 days a week. He is a 12 year old, 16hh Thoroughbred gelding. He’s a quirky horse with tons of personality; very affectionate and loves people.
He is a super fun ride with nice floaty movement. He’s done low level Dressage and has jumped small fences! This boy loves to work and tries really hard to please. He is a bit nervous off-property but will go out on trails with other horses. Trained in basic natural horsemanship, he responds best to this approach. He is a sensitive redhead and can have his occasional TB moments, so he is best suited to a confident, patient rider with soft hands.
We just had to share this great Standardbred tribute poem by Catrina Godden :)
We had the massage therapist out for our new kids today :)
Meet Muffie and Cooper, our newest rescues who just arrived at the farm tonight :) We named them after one of our adopter who sent in a very generous donation, which helped us to save their lives.
They seem like nice horses who have been through the ringer. Unfortunately, all we know about them is that they came down from a reservation in Lillooet with a bunch of cattle.
