Adopting a Horse From J&M Acres
All horses are located in Maple Ridge, B.C. unless otherwise noted and come with a two-week trial period (extendable by request). Before looking into adopting a rescue horse, please ensure that you are able to care for one properly. Most of the horses that end up in rescues end up here because people underestimate the amount of time, money and care they require. By doing your research and determining your skill level, needs and availability the adoption process will be much smoother.
Adoption Application
Our adoption application must be completed before you can be approved for adoption. If you have a specific horse in mind, please note their information. If you are under 18 years of age, your parent/guardian will also be responsible for reviewing the agreement and co-signing for the adoption and care of the animal. Click here to submit the form online.
Questions about the adoption application or adoption process can be directed via the contact us page.

Post Approval
Once your completed application has been reviewed and you are approved, we will work to schedule an appointment with you.
If you wish to move forward with the adoption without an appointment, we will finalize the adoption agreement, which will need to be signed and dated before that horse can be moved off of the property, and arrange hauling details. Check out our rescue blog for monthly hauls or click here to view our list of trusted haulers.
