Adopted: September 27, 2011
Teya (aka Whiskey) was adopted just before being euthanised due to the discovery of various problems including: stomach ulcers from too much bute over the years, founder, resulting laminities and an internal infection.
We want to say thank you to her Mom and everyone at the barn for the chance they were willing to extend her and for caring for her and showing her love in her last week, which is what she should have had all along.
I hope whoever dumped her at the auction feels damn good about themselves for putting her through all that to make a few hundred bucks instead of humanely euthanizing her when they should have, which is what she deserved.
She died peacefully as Teya in loving arms and now, she is pain free. RIP.
AGE: 13 y/o
She has a tattoo, though it is hard to read. We think she is registered as Skyeworth, born may May 12, 1998. Her teeth do seem to support that age. Skyeworth is an unraced mare. Pedigree is here: http://www.pedigreequery.com/skyeworth.
She is a sweet girl, but she has obviously been abused or mistreated in some way. She is a little nervous and shy, but she tries. We did get her feet done when the farrier came to do Jenny and she did fairly well. She had 3/4 shoes on and her feet were in bad shape, but are cleaned up now.
Whiskey has really nice movement and clean legs. She is broke to ride and does give to the bit a little, but there is a lot of tension. She has definitely been mishandled under-saddle. However, there is a lot of potential here! She just needs an intermediate-experienced rider to uncover it.
