Adopted: June 23, 2011
Pastel was very loved at her new home and had the best of care. Unfortunately, on July 5, 2011 she was having trouble breathing. The vet figured she had a tumor that ruptured.
I am very sorry for your loss, Terri. Pastel was extremely lucky to have you
"To place your horse's need for you to let him leave his failing body above your need to keep him with you - that - is the greatest and purest love." - Cynthia Garrett
Pastel is a 16.1hh, 16 y/o Thoroughbred mare was surrendered to us by a woman who had taken her from her friend who could no longer keep her. She does have a few melanomas under her tail, but she has had them for years and they have never bothered her.
She is a sweet mare who is easy to handle and loads well. She is easy-going and polite on the ground. Knows how to back up and move off. She is currently barefoot without issues and had her teeth and tetanus done six months ago.
She is very easy to ride and is quiet and responsive, but does have some 'get-up-and-go'. She deserves a confident beginner to intermediate rider because she is a little forward and is sensitive.
