Kitty has since been re-homed after her previous adopter was no longer able to keep her. She is still close to her old home so they can visit and is doing wonderful with her new family so far! Plus, she is already becoming good buddies with her new stable mate, fellow J&M Acres graduate Taz.
REGISTERED NAME: Road Kill Kitty
AGE: 14 y/o
RIDER LEVEL: Intermediate
SUITABILITY: English/Western Pleasure, Dressage, Trails, Endurance, etc
Unfortunately Kitty will be returning to the rescue as of January 1st as her adoptee can no longer afford to care for her. We are saddened that she will be coming back as we know how much her adoptive mom loves her, but we are glad she contacted us before getting in over her head. We understand that things change and we also know that horses are a large financial responsibility.
She is registered as Road Kill Kitty, a 1999 Standardbred mare. She stands approx 15.3hh and is broke to ride and drive. This mare loves the trails but will work in the ring if asked. Has Dressage training and did two seasons of endurance in the ERABC and completed every race. She can be wary on the trails by her self but with a firm clear rider she will troop past many distractions. Excellent with groups. Goes over bridges, up and down hills and through large fields. She is not spooky or overly sensitive just requires a confident rider as she needs leadership. She can be testy in the way of not going forward but once you come to an understanding she is right there on the ball! Rides nicely with light hands and light legs. She has been kept up to date on her care and is a sweet girl who would make a lovely pleasure partner for an intermediate rider.
Kitty is currently located in Nanaimo and is available for viewing as per her adopter who would love to find her a home on the Island where she can visit. She will be arriving at the rescue in Maple Ridge by January 1st.
