Adopted: July 2, 2011
His new family says: He has some small things that need working on, but as the days have gone by, we have seen some promising signs.
This morning I was out wandering around with the morning java, and he suddenly became crazy frisky and chased all the cow/calves out of the field they had just arrived at. Then he came trotting over to me as if to say: "I did good Mom , didn't I?".
He has alot of spunk and fun in him, and I think he'll make a great cow horse....who'd a thought it!"
Dancer is a 12 year old, Standardbred gelding. He has been sticked at 15.2hh. He was orginally surrendered to us by a family who no longer was using him. He then was adopted in January, but has turned out to be just a little too hot for her. She adores him, but he is coming back here to find a more suitable home.
He has shoes and his vaccinations and deworming are up to date. He is great in traffic, good with other horses, an easy keeper and sound. He is very willing on his own and also good in a group. He trots easily and has a smooth canter. No bad habits.
He is well-schooled and responds nicely to leg and rein aids. He gives to the bit and is very gentle in the hands. He would do best with an intermediate rider per his skills under-saddle. He would be suitable as anything from a jumper (he quite enjoys it) or dressage horse to a nice pleasure or trail horse. He has all the basic training and schooling, plus lots of fun energy to work with.
