Abby is doing famously in her new home in Vernon. After a few days to settle in and get to know her new family in the beginning, she has become quite a chatterbox and has been a superstar at home during riding and putting up with haircuts, etc. She truly is loving having a real family of her own and we are so happy for her!

This girl has come a long way from the scared, antisocial mare that we picked up from the stockyard on March 25th. In the last couple months, she is not only looking 100x better, but she has also come out of her shell and begun to trust again.
She is super easy to catch; you can't get rid of her. She stands nice in the crossties, loves going out for walks, is lunging pretty well and is always eager to check anything new out. If there is barrels or cones in the ring, she loves playing with them and knock them over and paw at them.
She has tons of personality. She has been coming along wonderfully under-saddle and walks, turns, stops, backs up, trots and has started on the canter. She is very willing and loves any kind of job. She doesn't panic about much. She has learned to trust enough that if you are not scared of it, she will walk up to it and check it out. Even with trucks, tractors, dogs, trailer, etc going all the time she barely bats an eye.
Tara has put a number of rides on her so far and has set her up with a good base. Abby has come a long way with her in the last few weeks and done nothing wrong. Abby is quiet and smart and the perfect Summer finishing project for an intermediate to experienced rider who has the time to put more miles on her! She is willing and curious and looks forward to new experiences. She just needs a soft hand and patience heart to take her there.
