Adopted: April 18, 2015
Re-Adopted: April 19, 2016
Due to life changes and Bodie's severe herdboundness issues, his adopter opted to find him a new home where he will have multiple horses for companionship and thus, never be alone again :) His new dad is not to far from his adopter and she will be able to continue to visit him! It couldn't have worked out better and we are so happy for all involved - especially Bodie!

[ORIGINAL POST]: Bodie is a gorgeous Thoroughbred gelding we saved at auction. He is 12 years old and has a tattoo, but it isn't readable. It turns out he was adopted out through Circle F Horse Rescue back in 2011 though (he was known as "Jimmy" then). He has a very docile and gentle nature, is easy to handle, loads and hauls, is good for the farrier, gets along with other horses and is very loving. He has no vices and, apart from a crack in his left front, he seems to have solid feet and is sound. He goes nicely under-saddle, though he needs to fill in again first before he can take a rider.
[UPDATED PROFILE]: Bodie was adopted back in April 2015 but is unfortunately looking for a new home. He is a very handsome 13 year old Thoroughbred gelding who measures 15.1hh with a gorgeous big build. He is sound, good for the farrier, loads and hauls well and goes well under-saddle for an intermediate rider. He unfortunately suffers from a fairly serious herd boundness issue and would be best suited for an experienced owner with multiple horses so he is never left alone.
According to his current adopter: "Bodie leads well but can be pushy if he believes he is in control. He is suited to an advanced/intermediate rider however when taken out of eyeshot of another horse would be more suited for a trainer and nothing below that. Bodie is extremely herd bound and should not be separated from another horse as he endangers his safety. I have spoken with previous owners who have explained to me that this is not a new problem and struggled with it as well. He has seen trainers in the past for it and no one believes this to be a fixable issue. He needs a home with multiple other horses and where he won't be ridden out alone or ever separated.
He is a sweet sweet gelding while other horses are around and has captured my heart with that quality in him, which is why I want to be honest with the severity of this issue; I really want his next home to work out forever. He walks right up to you to be caught and even sticks his nose in the halter when you hold it out to him, he walks/trots up to the fence when you come outside and will follow you around the pasture that him and his buddy are in. He stands well to be tacked up and will stand for hours for scratches and love from his human.
I don't want Bodie to be overlooked because of his issue as he truly does have an amazing temperament in all other aspects. If you have any other questions about how he is you can text or phone me (250) 925 0277 and I will answer any questions you may have about him. I want any potential adopters to be completely informed about him as to ensure a perfect or near perfect fit."
Bodie is currently located in Quesnel and available for adoption from there. His adoption fee is BY DONATION to an approved home with a signed adoption agreement in place for his protection. Contact us today if interested and we can put you in touch with his current owner.
