Moe was rescued from slaughter by J&M Acres on November 25, 2012 from the local auction. He was skinny and in need of TLC. After two months at our foster home, Moe was ready for the next stage of his life and was adopted on January 25, 2013.
Here he is on the left as of last weekend looking fabulous at home!
Next was Holly who was adopted by Rachel on March 2, 2013. Holly came into the rescue with Moe on November 25, 2012 from the auction as well. She was an unbroke 20 year old mare. After getting her started under-saddle we then found her a home with Rachel who, after meeting Moe, wanted to get a rescue horse of her own. Here she is on the right with her three little girls and looking wonderful too!
Number three in the Rock Creek adoptee group is Danny, who arrived at the rescue on April 27, 2013 as an owner surrender and was quickly scooped up by one of Jolene's daughters. He arrived home on May 7, 2013 and was renamed Fernando. He has since been enjoying the attention and exploring the trails around his home. After Danny (aka Ferndando) was J&M's famous Douggie.
Douggie arrived at J&M Acres on March 10, 2013 in very bad shape as part of an SPCA seizure. He officially finished his rehab on May 7, 2013. Douggie was adopted to another of Jolene's daughters on June 27, 2013. Much like the other two Standardbred's at home with the Walker's, Douggie fit in great with the family and was instantly showered in love. You can see on the right that he has definitely been soaking it up at his new home and is now looking phenomenal.
The last member of the Rock Creek group is Tucker. He arrived at J&M Acres on June 25, 2013 and went home to the Walker's just over a month later on July 26, 2013 for yet another of Jolene's daughter.
I think that covers all of them - for now!
