The first new save is a 19 year old gelding who went through the cattle sale at the stockyard yesterday. Instead of being shipping to Alberta for meat, he is now coming into the rescue to be assessed and re-homed. More photos and details to come!
He is a 2008 Standardbred gelding born in Red Deer, AB. He approximately 16hh+. He has white on all four ankles and a star and snip. He is broke to drive and last raced April 19 and earned $ 23,332 in his career. Same previous listed owner as Gale. He loaded like a dream and seems very sweet. Thank you Shaylene for helping this boy! More photos and details to come!
With Douggie and Kingston heading to their new homes, we have been able to take in these two new rescues who were almost shipped to the slaughterhouse. Instead, they both have the chance now to find a forever home. And that is the revolving door of horse rescue and why our motto is 'adopt a horse, save two lives'.
Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for updates on these two lovelies!
We can't wait to help them find their new families.
