Mickey and Minnie were rescued on October 18, 2010 from a local stockyard for $0.09/lb. They were both a year old when we rescued them; underweight and both had umbilical hernias.
I was at the beginning of my horse rescue "career" here at J&M Acres and the situation of these two babies outraged me so much that I wrote a letter about their rescue and situation that was published in Horse Journals and the Maple Ridge Bugel titled "Nine Cents a Pound Shouldn't Be the Value of Any Life".
This is the love of my life, Jude (formally known as Mickey). He is the sweetest, most amazing boy ever. Him and I share a special bond. I'm so lucky to have him. He and his sister Jojo (Minnie) are doing wonderful here at home with their friends Strider and Willie. I love them both to pieces. Thank you again for giving me and my sister Tessa the opportunity to add those two babies to our lives.
