Firstly, today we are celebrating the birthday of our fearless leader, owner and operator Julie Macmillan. Happy birthday, Julie! This past year has been incredible with many more lives saved and memories made and I we can't wait to see what the future holds. Secondly, we are also celebrating the one-year adoption anniversary of J&M Acres graduate and official rescue mascot, Gordy the Mustang!
One of those lives is Gordy. He is a Mustang gelding with a BLM brand who traces back to Oregon, but found himself at the local auction yard here in the Lower Mainland at 22 years old. We picked him up to save him from going to slaughter and he arrived at the rescue on July 9, 2012. Julie instantly fell in love with him and she made the adoption official on her birthday last year. Our painted boy is now 23 years of age and doing wonderfully here at the farm.
Happy birthday and happy anniversary you two!
J&M Acres just wouldn't be the same without your gorgeous faces.
