Today is officially the three year anniversary of the day that I started with J&M Acres Horse Rescue as their volunteer adoptions and marketing coordinator.
I have loved horses ever since I was a little girl and rode my first one when I was two years old. When my riding coach retired four years ago, I was desperately missing horses in my life.
It just so happened, that I found myself at J&M Acres and since then I found a real purpose in my partnership here in at the rescue. I also feel fortunate in the wonderful friendship that began between myself and Julie and beyond blessed at how my volunteer work through J&M Acres brought me to my very first horse, Kal-El.
I could go on and on because there is so much to say, but I will simply go with the fact that this has been the most rewarding and insane roller coaster of my life. I have not only met hundreds of wonderful and deserving horses, but I have also met some really amazing people who have opened up their hearts and homes to adopt the "unwanted" equines that pass through our care.
Thank you everyone who has supported me from the beginning, especially my family, and thank you to every one of our rescue supporters from our amazing adopters to our generous donors to our simply fabulous likers and sharers. You all have a very special part in this.
