Bikini Car Wash for the Horses 2011 08/06/2011
 We had our very first bikini car wash for the horses on August 1st at the Golden Ears Pub from noon-4pm!
We definitely think this will have to be an annual thing now! Not only was it an absolutely blast, but we also managed to raise $1,200 for the horses!  A couple of our volunteers were out at Carisbrooke Elementary last week for sharing day with kindergartners as well as grade 1 & 2 students. They also did a fundraising presentation at Montroyal Elementary for the 5th year in a row where over 300 students attended over the afternoon.
For the presentations, our volunteers brought, one of our success stories, Lucy, as well as another horse and pony. Once again the students of Montroyal school have ponied up for the horses at J&M Acres horse rescue. This year there was a English demo by Rae Ann and Kaluha and a Western demo with Kriss and Lucy. Alice along with helpers Wyatt, Samantha, Dagmar, Sara Jane and Kate brought Cloudy the miniature horse and Star the Welsh pony. Pitt Meadows Day Parade 2011 06/04/2011

Maple Ridge Christmas Parade 2010 12/05/2010
With three weeks to Christmas, Maple Ridge held their annual Christmas parade in the town center! Julie and I decked out our horses and rode them in the parade alongside the Haney Horseman.
Julie rode her horse, Phoenix and decked herself out in pink and I rode one of our new rescues, Prancer, and decked us out in red. Prancer was amazing tonight! She loaded well and hauled great. We got there and she had some trouble getting out of the trailer, but then she figured it out. We tied them and put their bridles on and she behaved great! Phoenix did good tonight too! Way better than we had thought. She was a little nervous about all the noise and stuff, but she was a good girl! We had loads of fun :) Pub Night Fundraiser 2010 11/15/2010
J&M Acres Horse Rescue held another annual pub night fundraiser at the Jolly Coachman pub in Pitt Meadows on November 14, 2010. The fundraiser featured a 50/50 draw and a silent auction and ticket prices were $25, which included dinner and your first drink.
At the fundraiser, we ended up having a total of 120 people show up and we raised approximately $4,500 to help horses in need! This was $1,000 over last years total! MountRoyal Fundraiser 11/15/2010
The students at Montroyal raised close to $400 in June 2010 to support J&M Acres Horse Rescue.
To garner enthusiasm for the cause four horses paid a visit to the school to give the kids a chance to learn abouthorses and see the horses in action. The kids were able to get up close and personal with the horses. Kriss Pless brought her horse Lucy who had been rescued by J&M Acres.RaeAnn Johnston who teaches at Montroyal brought her horse Kahlua and Alice Arnold brought her horse Kiki and her pony Starr. For every donation the kids made they were given a ticket for a draw to wina horse experience at the barn! The lucky recipient this year was Annika M who was taken out to the barnwhere she was able to groom the horses, feed them and go out for a trail ride! This was the 3rd year in a row and the kids look forward to the horses coming and finding out about the horse thatthey had a part in saving. This year their money helped to save a poor little blue roan pony named Noss who was saved at the auction. Ever So Clever Halloween Fun Day 10/24/2010
