A couple of our volunteers were out at Carisbrooke Elementary last week for sharing day with kindergartners as well as grade 1 & 2 students. They also did a fundraising presentation at Montroyal Elementary for the 5th year in a row where over 300 students attended over the afternoon.
For the presentations, our volunteers brought, one of our success stories, Lucy, as well as another horse and pony.
Once again the students of Montroyal school have ponied up for the horses at J&M Acres horse rescue. This year there was a English demo by Rae Ann and Kaluha and a Western demo with Kriss and Lucy. Alice along with helpers Wyatt, Samantha, Dagmar, Sara Jane and Kate brought Cloudy the miniature horse and Star the Welsh pony.

Alice had a variety of educational information, including how to interact with horses , what they eat and the different types and purposes of the horse. Loads of questions were asked and answered. She also explained the importance of places like J&M Acres rescue, where horses have a second lease on life. The children also had the opportunity to pet the horses one by one. Lucy made sure to put her head down for some loving.
The winner of this years fundraising is grade 3 student Kieran H. Congratulations and enjoy your day at the barn!
Thank you to everyone at Montroyal and Carisbrooke Elementary for allowing us to come out and educate our future generations!
