Arrived: March 15, 2012
Adopted: May 22, 2012

Africa went back home with a lady who owned him when he was 4 years old! She had rescued him back then and started his training before circumstances forced her to have to re-home him. She was very upset when she had to sell him and had visited him at that home many years later to find that he was doing great, and he has been in good homes ever since from what I have pieced together of his history.

When she saw him on our site, she said she couldn't help but feel that he should be back with her. She told me "if I could of he never would of left". She lost one of her Thoroughbred mares to colic last year and hasn't yet gotten another.

We are very happy for him - especially with his 19th birthday on the 21st of May!

Africa is a registered 18 y/o Thoroughbred gelding. He is 16.1hh and his registered name is Watch Angel's Dust. He was foaled May 21, 1993 and is by Black Prospector and out of Faded Beauty. He has his papers and his passport.

Africa is polite, good for the farrier, easy to handle, loads and hauls, etc. He was a pre-training level eventer and a level 2 dressage horse. He has been ridden regularly and is a very well-mannered boy. He is strictly English trained and would do great as a pleasure mount with some low-level Dressage and flat work as well as possibly a few small jumps. He would suit an intermediate plus rider given his training.

Note: Africa is back up for adoption. He is being worked regularly at the farm that he is at right now and has been doing a couple lessons a week, but he is a bit too much horse for them. He has been doing some flat work as well as small jumps. They think he is lovely, but he just isn't quite the right match. They are willing to foster him for another month or so and will allow people to come see him in a lesson and test ride him in their arena if they are interested. He is a fabulous boy, he just needs an intermediate plus rider due to his energy and training
