Arrived: November 3, 2011
Adopted: November 7, 2011

One Jack's former owners got in touch with  us after being told by some friends that they thought they saw a horse that looked like her old boy on our rescue page. I spoke with her on the phone shortly after and she was in tears over finding him again.

She used to own Splash from 1996 - 2001, but had to sell him 11 years ago because she was very sick and needed a double-organ transplant. When she was rested up and healthy, she tried to buy him back, but wasn't able.

She couldn't believe that he is here and she is coming tomorrow to see him and she wants to take him home. I am so glad he gets to go back to someone who clearly loved him and didn't want to give him up ♥

I got goosebumps talking to her. It is stories like this that make what we do even more worthwhile. I cannot wait for him to see her again. I am sure he will remember her! I am so thrilled for him. Every horse deserves someone to love them like this.

REGISTERED NAME: Jack
AGE: 24 y/o
BREED: Paint
GENDER: Gelding
HEIGHT: 15.1hh
RIDER LEVEL: n/a
SUITABILITY: English or Western pleasure, Trail

He is a very sweet man. He loaded and unloaded quietly and politely in the dark last night. He is easy to lead and halter and gets along well with all of the other horses. He is very skinny and needs some TLC, but definitely love. His feet need a good trim, but he is moving sound.

Adoption fee is $500

Thank you J&M for rescuing my boy! I always knew I'd see him again. I was actually on the transplant waiting list when I bought Splash. I was in poor shape- mentally and spiritually and always missed having a horse. I had a dream about a palomino/pinto and the following day I saw his ad in the paper- the rest is history! My transplants went very well (kidney and pancreas) but I was still not "healthy" and would find out people were riding my horse when I wasn't around. This was upsetting and I wanted him to have 1 owner/rider who could utilize him and keep him fit- it was hearbreaking to sell him but I thought it was best for him. I sold him to an aquaintance with whom I had a buy back arrangement. We did keep in touch and I saw Splash a few times over the years. A few years ago I could not stop thinking about him so I called her and asked how he was? She was so hurtful and told me she had sold him to someone in Chilliwack a year prior. I was literally sick for days but she DID take great care of him when she had him so I figured she'd found him a great retirement home. I continued to post his pic on facebook and check out the rescue sites, but to no avail. A few months ago I finally purchased TinMan- a little QH gelding, then this all happened! I am beyond sad at the condition of Splash but so grateful for J&M and for my friends informing me about him. The support from friends and strangers is overwhelming and I am so grateful! I think Splash is too <3
