Bandit is a 28 year old Quarter Horse gelding. Bandit is quite small, around 14hh. He is adorable! He is very quiet and independent, but he sure soaks up the love. I am not sure what his previous situation was, but he is darling and just melted right against my chest during cuddles. He is well broke and sound. Would be suitable as a companion or as a lead pony for kids, or possible light riding for a smaller rider. He is very sweet. He needs a little girl or older couple to dote on him I think.

Sunset is officially home and they absolutely love her. They think she is very sweet and she did great with them on their first ride together and we wish them many more in the future.

Sunset is an Arabian mare, approx 25 years old. She is in great shape for her age, has lots of energy and is very sweet with great ground manners. She UTD on teeth, shots and deworming. She is broke to ride and can go English or Western, but is a bit nervous under-saddle however, so she needs a more advanced rider (preferably someone with Arab experience), but she has no buck, rear or bolt and is a very sweet girl who tries really hard.

Danny is officially adopted and now living in Rock Creek with another J&M Standardbred graduate, Moe. The family adores Danny already and have taken him out on the road and the trails and he has been a perfect fit for some of the more beginner riders. We are so happy for him!

"Danny" is an 11 year old Standardbred, approx 14.3-15.1hh. His previous owner bought him at auction six years ago, but can no longer afford to keep him. He did race in the past, but retired with no injuries. They have done English and Western, Natural Horsemanship, a bit of jumping (he loves it!) and trail riding. Has been shoeless for the past 4 years, was ridden bitless for 3 three years. UTD on everything. He has been a pasture pet for the last year and a half as his owner can no longer ride, so he will need a refresher. Keep an eye out for this boys arrival!

Whisper is officially adopted and home to stay with her new family. Her new mom says that she is "awesome! She is very loving, affectionate and is very vocal when the kids come to visit. She is so therapeutic - I am so relaxed around her - very calming". We are so happy for her to have a home where she clearly fits in so well!

Whisper is an approx 15 year old, 16hh Thoroughbred mare whose surrender was facilitated via the BC SPCA. 

She has no tattoo, but the vet double-checked her teeth and agreed that she is 15 years old, possibly a little younger. She is UTD on teeth, deworming and hooves. 

She is a beautiful and darling girl who has come around a lot since she was rescued. She has a willing personality that is shining through and she is really looking for someone to please. Whisper is looking for an intermediate handler with the time to bond with her; she is sound and will make a great riding partner for an experienced, active rider!

Summer has been officially adopted and is doing great at her new home in Alberta. Her adopter cannot say enough good things about her and think she is a wonderful gal!

Summer is a 25 y/o Thoroughbred mare, 16.1hh approx. Her owner passed away from cancer, so we took her in to find her a new home. She is absolutely darling and was easy to load, handle, haul and she gets along well with other horses. She is sound and healthy, but could use some more weight. 

She has a tattoo, which we believe matches a Thoroughbred mare by the registered name "Tarnator". If so, she was foaled in Ontario on March 3 1987, which matches her age, and had 19 starts in her career. Her sire is Euclid (IRE) and dam would be Platinum Queen. 

She is awesome under-saddle. Eager for the bridle and bit, patient during tacking up and very quiet and bombproof with a rider. She was responsive to rein and leg aids and even drops her nose. She would be good for a beginner as a pleasure mount.

Chip has officially been adopted and has been re-named Geronimo  by his new Dad. He is still local and is doing great at home enjoying his big stall, large field and other equine company.

Chip is a 16 y/o Appendix gelding, 16hh approx. His owner passed away from cancer, so we took him in to find him a new home. He is polite, was easy to handle once haltered, loaded well and gets along with the other horses and he is turning out to be a bit of a teddy bear too! 

Chip is broke to ride and used to be a mountain trail horse. He lunges and is quiet for tacking. He is definitely trained Western and was a little energetic, but is very well behaved. He moves nice and is very responsive, even drops his head and holds it with little encouragement from the leg. He yields to the leg, neck reins and knows some voice commands. 

He went on trial, but was returned as him and the other horse on the property didn't mesh, so he is available for adoption again through no fault of his own. His trial mom noted: Chip takes a few min to settle down once in hand, but once he does is very quiet and respectful. Stands quiet for tacking up an mounting. Great with feet, shy about his ears, but comes along very quickly just needs a bit of trust and work with being caught. Very sweet emotional gelding, wants to bond with one person.

Snuggles, now re-named "Copper", is officially adopted. 

Her new mom says that she "whinnies and nickers when I walk down to the barn, I think we have a connection already. I will spend lot's of time with her, love her and keep her safe forever".

Snuggles is an 8 year old, 16hh Standardbred mare born 05/03/2004. She had 46 starts in her career earning $22,303 and was last raced in 2009. She is an owner surrender as her owner could no longer afford her care. 

She is a very sweet girl. She is broke to ride and walks, trots and canters, has been on trails and moves off the leg. We were told she can be a little nervous out on trails alone, but otherwise, is a great mare. No bolt, buck, rear or spook; she just stops and looks. 

She is still a little green and needs some reassurance, but she has a great base. She loves leg and moves off of it very nicely and is very soft in her mouth. She would be suitable for an intermediate level rider who is soft in their hands and has a good seat. She would make a great low-level Dressage prospect or English or Western pleasure partner.

NOTE: She was adopted through Greener Pastures - BC Standardbred Horse Adoption Society previously. Check out the videos of her when she was with them below. She has of course, come a ways in her training since then, but she was a nice girl already!

Holly is a sweet 20 year old Appaloosa mare who is 15hh. She was run through loose at the auction. Great ground manners, loads, easy to catch and handle, good with other horses. She was previously unbroke, but she has since been introduced to lunging, tack and a rider. Her foster mom has ridden her twice and finds her to be a very smart and willing. Holly would be a great project for an experienced home to finish off or she would also make a lovely companion horse.
